Website value calculators: how to interpret estimates

An automated estimate is a starting point

Website calculators may estimate traffic, advertising or value using public data and modelling. They do not access the owner’s accounts and do not prove revenue or a sale price. Inputs can be incomplete or outdated.

Review the tools mentioned

The original tool links are retained for reference. Review their methods and data dates. Old Alexa rankings and modelled advertising estimates are not verified income. Different tools can produce different results because their data and methods differ.

Verify the website’s actual records

Review verifiable analytics, traffic sources, revenue, operating costs, domain ownership, content rights and licences. Examine dependence on a single traffic source or customer and the maintenance condition. Use records rather than a calculator number alone.
